A concert in support of Geneva Call’s activities
19 November 2015
The United Nations Orchestra is organizing a concert in support of Geneva Call’s activities. All profits will go directly to Geneva Call’s programmes on the protection of civilians in armed conflict.
The concert will take place on
Sunday 29 November at 17h00
Victoria Hall – Geneva
This is an evening not to be missed—a meeting of two giants of the Romantic era: the German, Schumann, and the Russian, Tchaikovsky. It will feature the talented, young, Franco-Belgian cellist, Camille Thomas. Considered one of the finest cellists of her generation, Camille Thomas will grace us with her interpretation of the magnificent Variations on a Rococo Theme by Tchaikovsky. Opening this concert, the United Nations Orchestra, under the baton of Antoine Marguier, will perform Schumann’s Symphony no. 4, which the composer dedicated to his wife, Clara. This wonderful programme closes with the Ballet Suite from Swan Lake—the concert version of the famous ballet by Tchaikovsky.
