Social Media Moderation Policy

Geneva Call welcomes respectful discussion and constructive criticism of our work. We recognize that people may hold different views about our activities, policies and positions, and we do not remove comments simply because they are critical of Geneva Call.

To maintain a constructive and safe environment, we may remove comments or restrict participation where content:

1 contains factual allegations that are demonstrably false, materially misleading, or defamatory;
2 makes allegations about individuals or organizations without a reasonable factual basis or supporting evidence;
3 contains harassment, threats, incitement to violence, personal attacks, abusive or degrading language;
4 targets individuals or groups because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected or inherent characteristics;
5 impersonates another person or organization, or appears to be engaged in deceptive, coordinated, automated or manipulative activity;
6 constitutes spam, repetitive or disruptive posting, bad-faith engagement, or is clearly intended to derail discussion;
7 discloses personal or confidential information without authorization;
8 promotes illegal activity or otherwise violates applicable platform rules; or
9 is persistently off-topic or deliberately seeks to divert discussion away from the subject of the post.

Content that violates our moderation guidelines will be removed. Repeated or serious violations of these guidelines may result in users being blocked, muted, or otherwise restricted from participating on our channels.

Inauthentic or coordinated activity

We may remove content and report accounts where there are reasonable grounds to believe that an account is being used primarily to engage in deceptive, coordinated, automated or disruptive activity, including the use of fraudulent, malicious or misleading links.

The fact that an account is new, has limited information, or expresses criticism of Geneva Call does not, by itself, constitute grounds for removal. Decisions will be based on the content and circumstances of the activity.

Factual disagreement and criticism

We distinguish between factual claims and opinions or criticism. Strongly worded criticism or disagreement with Geneva Call’s work will generally remain visible where it does not otherwise breach these guidelines.

Where a comment contains a factual allegation that is clearly false or materially misleading, we may remove it or, where appropriate, provide clarification or correction.

Moderation

These guidelines are applied to our social-media channels in conjunction with the rules and policies of the relevant platform. We may remove content without prior notice when necessary to protect participants, maintain constructive discussion, or comply with legal or platform requirements.

We aim to apply these guidelines consistently, regardless of whether a comment is supportive of, neutral towards, or critical of Geneva Call.
