Mission

Why this Role?
The Programme Coordinator is responsible for implementation and oversight of Geneva Call’s programmes and projects at the country level, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy, guidelines, and operational objectives.
Work Relations
The Programme Coordinator reports to the Country Director and works closely with the MEAL & Liaison Coordinator and the Head of Support. He/She supervises directly the Field Officers. The role also maintains occasional contact with external partners including UN agencies, Permanent Missions, international organisations, and service providers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Implementation
- Supervise and oversee the implementation of operational and strategic objectives in line with Geneva Call’s mission.
- Identify and propose clear engagement opportunities to Country Director.
- Map and develop access strategies to engage with relevant armed actors directly or through local partners.
- Ensure programme activities are implemented effectively and achieve intended results.
- Ensure programme quality.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Coordinate with the MEAL &Liaison Coordinator to ensure that design, planning, monitoring, and evaluation of operations are coherent with programmatic guidelines and a results-based approach.
- Regularly review programme progress, identify challenges, and recommend corrective actions.
Budget and Compliance
- Monitor programme expenditure to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Ensure compliance with Geneva Call’s internal standards, donor rules, and accountability frameworks.
External Coordination
- Map and actively participate in relevant coordination mechanisms and protection networks as delegated by the Country Director.
- Represent Geneva Call at workshops, events, and forums related to engagement with armed actors and protection issues as delegated by the Country Director.
Management and Team Development
- Develop and manage a team of project officers, fostering safe and efficient project delivery.
- Promote staff development, performance management, and a collaborative working environment.
Requirements
Education (Essential)
- Minimum a bachelor’s degree Graduate degree in international relations or another humanitarian field.
Experience (Essential)
- At least 8 – 10 years of relevant experience in humanitarian organisations, particularly in conflict-affected settings and protection work.
- Proven experience in project cycle management and team leadership.
- Proven experience working with different donors and multilateral agencies.
Experience (Desirable)
- Candidates with senior profiles (e.g., Heads of Programmes) are welcome to apply and, if qualified, will be considered for a more senior role.

Senior Internal Auditor

Role
Under the independent supervision of the Board, the Senior Internal Auditor will lead internal audits, including compliance, performance, process, and management audits of Geneva Call activities. The Senior Internal Auditor will also oversee investigations of whistleblowing complaints received through dedicated mechanisms. This role may be remote or located in one of Geneva Call’s offices, with regular travel required. This role is a new position.
Work Relations
The Senior Internal Auditor reports directly to the Board of Trustees and works independently. The role engages with Geneva Call’s senior management, country offices, HQ units, and external stakeholders as needed to conduct audits, follow-up recommendations, and manage investigations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Audit Management
- Conduct internal audits of Geneva Call’s country offices, HQ units, and projects using a risk-based approach.
- Develop and execute annual audit plans aligned with organizational risk and strategic objectives.
- Ensure audits meet professional standards, international best practices, and organizational policies.
- Report audit findings with actionable, risk-based recommendations.
- Track implementation of audit recommendations and monitor improvements.
Internal Control Systems
- Assist with effective implementation of the internal financial controls and undertake all aspects of monitoring to ensure the control system is aligned with organizational needs.
- Identify gaps or weaknesses in control systems and propose improvements.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, donor regulations, and best practices.
- Support management in strengthening risk management and governance processes.
- Provide guidance on compliance to staff and management.
Whistleblowing & Investigations
- May be involved in the investigative process on all whistleblowing complaints received, ensuring independence, objectivity and confidentiality.
- Collect evidence, set up investigations and interview relevant stakeholders, and prepare thorough investigative reports. Documentation is properly maintained.
- Provide timely and accurate reports to the Board and GC Directorate for all audits and whistleblowing complaints on-going and completed and recommend corrective and preventive action for decision making.
- Follow up on systemic issues identified through investigations.
Reporting & Advisory
- Provide regular updates to the Board and senior management on audits and investigations.
- Serve as an independent advisor to support organizational improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high-quality reporting standards, including financial, operational, and compliance analyses.
- Facilitate understanding of audit expectations and findings among Geneva Call staff.
- Support strategic decision-making through risk assessments and insights.
Other Responsibilities

Requirements
Education (Essential)
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Law, or a related field.
- Professional certification (CIA, CISA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
Experience (Essential)
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in auditing, with a majority in internal auditing.
- At least 5 years of experience in audit management and drafting/reviewing audit reports.
- Experience in international organizations, NGOs, multilateral entities, or similar environments.
- Proven experience in conducting audits and investigations of whistleblowing complaints in complex environments.
- Experience in analysis of complex data sets using modern analytics tools.

Geneva Call is headquartered in Geneva and works in 15 countries in South-East and Central Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
Geneva Call has been working in Syria for over a decade. The fall of the Assad regime in December 2024 marks a transformative new chapter for the country. Looking to the future, Geneva Call is engaging with the transitional government and other key local actors, including civil society, to promote awareness of, and compliance with, humanitarian norms.
Role
The Support Coordinator ensures efficient management of finance and support services for Geneva Call, including finance, human resources, procurement, logistics and administration.
The Support Coordinator is accountable for support services in-country: systems, processes and standardisation to ensure transparency, accountability and a robust system of internal control. He / she ensures compliance with Geneva Call’s policies and processes, including spot checks and internal audits as necessary, and with in-country legal requirements. In addition, the Support Coordinator is also the focal point for staff members of the respective country for support related questions and manages / executes the day-to-day support activities in collaboration with the support team at headquarters. The Support Coordinator reviews and implements policies and processes related to support services. The work is primarily achieved through the individual or project teams by collaborating, influencing, coaching and advising, with emphasis on functional knowledge rather than managing people directly.
The Support Coordinator is the key focal point to the country director for all support related issues. The role reports to the Country Director.
Work Relations
Internal:
• Communicates and coordinates between departments, ensuring administrative systems and procedures effectively support operations.
• Willingness and ability to travel to country offices at short notice.
External:
• Builds and maintains an HR network with peer organisations in the sector.
• Liaises and collaborates with relevant local authorities, lawyers and/or stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Finance
• Supports the country programme in business / project planning, budgeting, forecasting, and ensures compliance with donor and Geneva Call policies.
• Produces and presents monthly Budget vs. Actual reports to management, highlighting issues and proposing corrective strategies.
• Identifies financial trends, collaborates on action plans for financial stability, and manages exchange rate fluctuation impacts.
• Oversees all financial accounting, cash flow, partner contract finances, audit matters, and timely monthly account closures.
• Develops financial reporting, cost allocation, and contract management systems while building national staff capacity and ensuring financial quality.
HR
• Develops, monitors and reviews the national HR framework to ensure compliance with Geneva Call’s policies and procedures at country level and with local legislation.
• In their respective country, the Support Coordinator is accountable for the execution of all HR related activities and processes such as recruitment, payroll, contracting, filing, reporting, duty of care, time sheets, etc.
• Upholds the standards outlined in Geneva Call’s safeguarding framework, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of staff, consultants and partners and anyone else who works with or on behalf of Geneva Call. Reports concern when they arise.
• Updates the staff database on a weekly basis; maintains a process to ensure that any changes are updated timely.
• Engages in annual HR projects and priorities; implements new policies, in collaboration with HR at headquarters.
Procurement
• Ensures that procurement actions are carried out in line with policies and procedures, and donor requirements, maintaining the right levels of procurement, appropriate controls and accountability, ensuring best value for money for Geneva Call.
• Provides technical guidance to the programme senior management.
• Develops and updates programme procurement plans to ensure timely procurement.
• Manages the end-to-end procurement process, in line with Geneva Call procurement procedures and in collaboration with procurement at headquarter.
Safety and Security
• Ensures all safety and security communications, transport, and housing material and equipment is available and properly functioning. Supports the Country Director with Safety and Security budgeting.
• Responsible to share the pre-arrival briefing to new members or visitors in the country.
• Ensures all new staff have filled in the digital Proof of Life form.
Administration and Logistics (10%)
• Ensures a proper filing system of HR contracts, accountancy and premises, and service contracts.
• Supports visa and travel requests.
Requirements
Education (Essential)
• A bachelor’s degree in finance or business degree specialised in finance with an accounting qualification as a plus.
Experience (Essential)
• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience relevant to the role.
• Experience in overseeing complex financial planning, monitoring, forecasting and reporting.
• Experience in payroll and human resources is a must.
Experience (Desirable)
• Experience in the humanitarian, non-profit sector is a plus.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus.
