Geneva Call visited guerrilla's territory
The
international organization against mines Geneva Call visited guerrilla
areas and had talks with HPG (People Defense Forces) guerrillas. During
the meeting, Geneva Call Organization expressed its appreciation for
HPG’s sensibility in battle practice on the basis of international
agreements.
The meeting at Media Defense Areas was attended by
Organization Head Elisabeth Decrey Warner and program director Katherin
Kramer on behalf of the organization, while HPG Main Headquarter
Commander Nurettin Sofi, Self Defense Committee member Narin Engizek and
YJA-Star commander Gulan Batman on behalf of HPG.
Many subjects
were discussed at the meeting; particularly HPG’s approach after the act
where four civilians lost their lives in Batman, the exclusion of young
people under 18 into battle, removal of anti-personal and unregulated
mines and the rules to be obeyed in battle.
