Geneva Call receives an European award for its Fighter not Killer campaign

The European Award for Citizenship, Security and Defence was awarded to Geneva Call for its Fighter not Killer campaign at the Berlin Security Conference on 18 November 2015. This award honours Geneva Call’s efforts to develop and disseminate tools that promote international humanitarian norms in war-torn countries. Geneva Call has mainly used this campaign in Syria and more recently in Iraq. It includes booklets, videos and a mobile application.
Geneva Call is delighted to receive this award and to note that issues related to humanitarian norms can come under the spotlight at an international conference on security and defence.
The European Award for Citizenship, Security and Defence is intended to reward outstanding efforts towards the development of European citizenship and European security and defence awareness. Since 2011, this award has been organized by the French association CiDAN together with the inter-parliamentary European Security and Defense Association under the High Patronage of the President of the European Council and under the Patronage of the European Commission’s Representation in France.
