Esther Waters, Gender Issues Coordinator. Before joining Geneva Call in 2008, Esther held a variety of roles working with women in conflict settings. She held the position of caseworker for the British Red Cross refugee team ‘women in crisis’ project in the UK and also worked for UNHCR in Uganda as a protection officer. Her consultancy work in gender and development has been focused on working with grassroots human rights organizations, predominantly in Southern Zambia. Esther earned a Masters in International Affairs at Columbia University’s School of Public and International Affairs (SIPA) in New York, where she specialized in international human rights. She earned a M.A/BA in social and political science/management studies from Cambridge University, England and is a professionally accredited project manager.
