Children and armed non-State actors Programme (CANSA)

Jonathan Somer is a Legal Adviser and Programme Coordinator on Children and non-State Actors with Geneva Call. Prevoiusly, he has worked with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Macedonia. He has worked as an international law consultant with the Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research Programme of Harvard University on the issue of private military companies, and with the International Law Department of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Copenhagen Process for the Handling of Detainess in Multilateral Military Operations. In 2007, he was awarded the Henry Dunant Prize, in honour of the founder of the Red Cross movment, for research on insurgent courts and the equality of belligerents in non-international armed conflicts. He joined Geneva Call in April 2008.
